Features

Comical and curious, this intelligent and devoted dog loves to spend time with his people, whether it's going for walks, running errands, or playing with the kids.

A member of the Bichon family of white, fluffy dogs - he's also known as the Bichon Bolognese - he originated in the Italian city of Bologna, from which he takes his name.

He excels at manipulating people to get his way, and can be difficult to housetrain, so be patient and consistent.

The distinctive single coat (i.e. no undercoat) falls in loose open ringlets/flocks all over the body, with shorter hair on the face. The hair's texture is woolly, as opposed to silky, and is never trimmed or clipped unless kept as pets. The hair sheds very little, but requires regular combing to prevent matting.

Bolognese are typically a healthy breed and are not prone to any major problems.

Bolognese are easy to train but are quick to bore with numerous repetitive drills.

To get a healthy dog, never buy a puppy from an irresponsible breeder, puppy mill, or pet store. Look for a reputable breeder who tests her breeding dogs to make sure they're free of genetic diseases that they might pass onto the puppies, and that they have sound temperaments.
